 Description of RTD activities Members of the Dept have been involved in numerous basic and applied research projects, particularly in the following areas: social ecology/environmental studies, migration and ethnic conflicts, nationalism, corruption, informal economies, social impact of new technologies, urban sociology, military and security issues, sexuality and HIV, gender issues, European studies, and cultural policy.
 Experiences in international Programmes Members of the Dept are currently involved in one FP 6 project and are active as short-term World Health Organization consultants.
Members of the Dept are also involved in joint European MA program MIGRATION AND INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS.
