 Description of RTD activities
The Civil Engineering Institure of Croatia is the leading Croatian company for the research and development in the following scientific disciplines of civil engineering : geotechnics, construction materials, water engineering, load-bearing structures, construction management, transportation and structural mechanics.
Its activities are based on:
- research and development projects,
- study of new materials, construction procedures and technologies,
- experimental research,
- development of prototype devices for use in civil engineering.

 Experiences in international Programmes
Project CONWAS - ˝ Development of sustainable construction and demolition waste management system for Croatia˝ LIFE05 TCY/CRO/000114 where the main goal is to assist Ministry of environmental protection, physical planning and construction to create and enforce new, EU harmonised regulations by establishing sustainable system for construction and demolition waste management.
Participant in Eureka project E! 2823 – FACTORY FIRE – TUNNEL - Precast Fire Resistant Segments for Secondary Tunnel Lining which lasted from 2002 to 2005.
