 Description of RTD activities MSci thesis: complay results from diferent investigations of the representatives of the genus Teucrium (T. polium; T.montanum; T. scordium; T. chamaedrys) in Macedonia that includes :
• Horological and ethnofarmagological investigations
• Phytochemical investigation of the flavonoids:
o Extractions and HPLC;GC-MS qualitative and quantitative analysis;
o Separation, isolation (semipreparative HPLC), structural characterisation and identification (NMR; GC-MS) of unknown flavonoid compound;
o Distribution and localisation of the flavonoids in the plants
o Season variability of flavonoid compounds
• Chemotaxonomical analysis
• Bioactivity of dry extracts from T. polium
o Pharmacological investigations-in vivo experimental design for assesment of:
hypoglycemic effects,
antihiperglycemic effects,
hypolipidemic effects
• evaulated in normal and streptozotocin-hyperglycemic rats,
• single and multiple dose,
• acute and subchronic treatment
• intraperitoneal and intragastral administration,
• comparation with Glibenclamide (widely used oral antidiabetic)
